Filmmaker Nico Ballesteros spent six years shadowing Kanye West, filming over 3,000 hours of his life for the upcoming documentary In Whose Name?, set to release September 19. 

But Kanye himself hasn’t seen it — and Ballesteros says he doesn’t know how the rapper will react. 

The film offers an unfiltered look at Ye, including scenes where Kim Kardashian tearfully tells him he’s changed, and Ye admits he’s been off bipolar medication for months. 

While it sidesteps deep analysis of his most inflammatory remarks, it presents an intimate, sometimes chaotic portrait of a man who has always kept the world guessing — and will likely be just as unpredictable when he finally sees the finished film.
